Last year I noticed No Idling signs on the driveway at Woodstock North High School. Maybe they are at other schools. The signs are supposed to warn drivers not to sit at the curb with the engine running, while they wait for their children.
The first problem is the signs are too small and too far in between. My guess is that most drivers either don't see them at all or ignore them.
I had a big laugh when I attended a music program at Woodstock High School on Monday night, April 25. On the drive behind the school were three school buses from schools visiting for something going on on the football field - maybe a track meet or something. The engines of all three buses were running! Three diesel engines, all pumping out their emissions - right there on school grounds.
