GM'S SALES, SERVICE PACT IS OUTLINED

Florida Automotive Journal
December 1970

Details of the five - year dealer sales and service agreement to be offered by General Motors' six car and truck divisions to their franchised dealers have been revealed at dealer meetings across the nation, Mack W. Worden, vice president in charge of marketing staff, announced.

Mr. Worden said the new agreement, effective Nov. 1, "should be recognized as the most progressive offered by any manufacturer."

Another point, Mr. Worden added, is that the new agreement is called the Dealer Sales and Service Agreement for the first time to even further "emphasize the importance of service by dealers as well as sales."

"The various activities involved in the manufacture and marketing of General Motors motor vehicles are all directed to one common objective - fulfilling the transportation needs of the public," Mr. Worden said.

"To continue to participate effectively in this industry, all General Motors marketing people and all franchised General Motors dealers must keep in mind that they are not merely selling machines or equipment - they are selling total transportation."

Mr. Worden said that the keystone to the success of GM and it's franchised dealers is "customer satisfaction with the total values incorporated in the General Motors car or truck purchased, including the usefulness of the vehicle in fulfilling transportation needs without undue interruption."
