Gets Probation for Payroll Padder Who Took $30,000.

DETROIT, Dec. 8.—George W. Pemmitt, 22 years old, accused of obtaining $2,000 from the Ford Motor Company by padding payrolls, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court today and on recommendation of officials of the company was placed on probation for two years.

While $2,000 was named in the warrant against Pemmitt, officials of the Ford company said the total amount missing was approximately $30,000. Pemmitt said he had taken the money to help friends through college.
