Antique Automobile
March-April 1972
In September of this year AACA will hold its sixth European tour. National Director Mahlon E. Patton has been named Tour Chairman. Mr. Patton reports there will be two tours. Tour #1 will include England, Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Italy. Tour #2 will go to Greece, Turkey, Yugoslavia, and Italy. Remember the dates, September 7, 1972 to September 28, 1972. A full 21 days of fun and fellowship touring Europe and Asia. An invitation and brochure outlining the details will be mailed to all Active members of AACA. Plan now to attend!
It is with sadness that I report the death of National Director V. O. (Andy) Anderson of Dows, Iowa. Andy passed away January 17, 1972 and he will be sadly missed. Andy has been associated with the "old car hobby" for the last 23 years. During the last six years he has a National Director for AACA. He has been on all five of the AACA European Tours and has attended a number of National AACA Meets, Tours and many other Club functions. Andy was keenly interested in the growth of AACA and was instrumental in the formation of several new regional groups in his area.
"THE SUNSHINE NAT'L", AACA's National Spring Meet, Southeastern Division, will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida April 6th thru April 9th, 1972. AACA's hard-working host Region, the Fort Lauderdale Region, has a great time planned and if you have not yet requested a registration form from AACA National Headquarters, DO IT NOW! All club members received the invitation to attend this meet along with their 1972 Board Election material. However, you must write to National Headquarters to receive your official registration form.
Don't forget the National Spring Meet-Eastern Division at Seven Springs, Pa. The dates are June 22nd thru the 25th, 1972. The invitations will soon be in the mail and the host Region, AACA's Western Pennsylvania Region, is going all out to have a fine Meet. PLAN TO ATTEND!
The recent outbreak of the Flu has taken its toll. Our mailing house was hit hard right at the time of mailing our January-February 1972 issue. We apologize for this delay but are happy to report that everything is now back to normal and on schedule.
New Officers and Directors have been elected for AACA for 1972. A report on the elections and AACA's 36th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, Pa. will appear in the next issue.
