Ronald Myrter, assistant general councel of INA, was inadvertently quoted out of context in the Oct. 9 Journal of Commerce article on hearings on a proposed regulation on mass merchandise insurance plans in New York.
The article said: Mr. Myrter "advised that 'adequate regulatory authority presently exists to prevent or correct abuses.'" Inadvertently omitted was the rest of Mr. Myrter's comment, "Nevertheless . . . we believe the time has come for an important insurance department, such as the New York department, to issue a regulation which affirmatively permits mass merchandising.
