Detroit Autobody Equipment Co., Royal Oak, Michigan is marketing a new process for repairing damaged vinyl tops.  The VR-1 vinyl top repair product is packaged in kit form and makes it simple and easy for anyone to repair top damage.  Finished repairs are permanent and the repaired area cannot be detected because it has the same strength, grain and color as the original material.

The process takes about 20 minutes for the average repair.  VR-1 Kits include a heavy-duty electric heat gun, vinyl patching compound, pure liquid vinyl aerosols in factory matched colors, vinyl prep-conditioner, applicator trowel and scalpel, graining compound for making reverse pattern die to match grain of repaired areas, silicone mold release, practice samples, and complete instructions.
