MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (January 18, 2014) - - Officials from Win-Tron Racing announced today that the team will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) full-time this season with Rookie of the Year contender Mason Mingus.

Mingus, 19, will drive the team’s No. 35 entry in all 22 races this year, beginning with next month’s season-opener, the NextEra Energy Resources 250 from Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 21.

Win-Tron Racing, headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, will convert from Chevrolet to Toyota for Mingus’s freshman NASCAR season. The team also announced that Call 811 Before You Dig will return as the primary marketing partner this season.

Mingus, a native of Brentwood, Tennessee competed full-time in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards last year (2013), under the guidance of crew chief Mark Rette. In his inaugural season of stock-car competition, he competed in 21 races with two poles, five top-fives and 18 top-10s en-route to a second place finish in the ARCA Racing Series point standings, behind now Win-Tron Racing teammate Frank Kimmel.

Following the conclusion of the ARCA season, Win-Tron Racing along with Mingus, entered three NCWTS race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway and Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway respectively. He recorded a best finish of 22nd at Phoenix.

The full-time climb to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is a big leap for the Tennessean, but the teenager is focused and driven on his impending future.

“Obviously, I’m very excited and anxious to start the season,” said Mingus. “Having the opportunity to run full-time in the NCWTS is an unbelievable opportunity for me and is one step closer to accomplishing the ultimate goal of racing in the Sprint Cup Series.

“I expect to be able to compete for Rookie of the Year and run up front every week. I have a lot of confidence in my team. The group of guys that Win-Tron Racing has put together for me has given me top-notch equipment in ARCA over the past year and I know we will have that same caliber in the truck series.”

With Rette again leading the way for the Win-Tron Racing development driver, the team left Preseason NASCAR testing at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway this week satisfied with their No. 35 Call 811 Before You Dig Toyota Tundra.

“I feel like our truck at the test was one of the best there,” Mingus added. “I don’t see any reason why we can’t come out with a top-10, if we can keep out of trouble. I think if we can start off the year with a strong finish, it would be great and give us the confidence and momentum to improve from there.”

Nate Thiesse, co-truck owner at Win-Tron Racing is equally excited about the operations newest endeavor.

“We’re very proud to make this announcement today,” Thiesse sounded. “Mason did an excellent job in the ARCA Racing Series last year and showed even more potential in the truck series. We’ve put a lot of attention towards our truck program and feel that we have the tools to have a strong presence and race for wins in 2014. For us, Daytona can’t come soon enough.”
