Longtime ARCA competitor Also To Race No. 32 At Talladega Superspeedway

MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (January 23, 2014) - - Officials from Win-Tron Racing announced today that Amherstburg, Ontario native Terry Jones will drive the team’s signature No. 32 Toyota Camry entry in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Saturday, February 15.

Jones’s partnership with the Mooresville, North Carolina-based team stems from a long-time friendship with crew chief Mark Rette. Now, the two peers will unite as one for a minimum of two ARCA Racing Series events this season, which also includes the May 3 running of the Talladega ARCA 200 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

“This is a great opportunity for myself and everyone at Jones Group International,” said Jones. “Win-Tron Racing has been a strong structure in the ARCA Racing Series for a long-time and I cannot begin to explain how excited I am to have the opportunity to run one of their cars.”

Jones, 42, will make his 51st ARCA Racing Series start in the Lucas Oil 200 presented by MATV American Real, but is searching for his first top-10 at the 2.5-mile superspeedway in his seventh start. Previously, Jones’ best finish at the “World Center of Racing” occurred in 2009, when he finished 20th.

“I’ve always run well at Daytona over the years, but for one reason or another, I’ve never been able to seal the finish I had hoped for. I know with the track record of Win-Tron Racing, my chances of earning my first top-10 at Daytona increase a lot. It’s going to be a blessing to drive some of the best equipment in the ARCA garage,” Jones added.

Jones Group International will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 32 entry, while Rette, the 2009 ARCA Racing Series champion crew chief, will call the shots for his friend on race day. Jones will also be a teammate to 10-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel, who will make his Win-Tron Racing debut in the No. 44 Ansell / Menards Toyota Camry.

“I’m glad to be helping my buddy at Daytona,” Rette sounded. “He is a great guy with a lot of passion and support for the ARCA Racing Series. He loves racing at Daytona and Talladega and I know that the Win-Tron Racing team will put him in some of the best equipment he’s ever had. It will be fun to watch Terry and Frank battle everyone else for the win. We’ll be there contending for sure.”

Nate Thiesse, co-car owner of Win-Tron Racing commented on the announcement by saying, “We’re happy to have this partnership with Terry Jones and Jones Group International for Daytona and Talladega. Terry has been a great competitor in the past and it will be nice to have him under one roof contending for the win together. One thing is for certain, the season-opener is bound to be a lot of fun!”

Entering Daytona, Jones has 50 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards starts to his credit with one top-five (fifth; Talladega 2013) and five top-10 finishes to his credit. He has a career-best qualifying position of sixth at Salem (Ind.) Speedway in the fall of 2006.
