Damon Lusk Returns To ARCA In Time For Michigan

“Lusk Ready For Win In Motor City ”

BROOKLYN, Michigan (June 13, 2007) - - Damon Lusk is back. It’s been 10 races since the ARCA RE/MAX Series saw the Kennewick , Washington native prepare to attempt an ARS race, but with his past experience at Michigan International Speedway, it’s no surprise that the Motor City was the choice for the North Carolina native’s return.

Lusk unloaded strong in the season opener, the ARCA 200 at Daytona. After qualifying strongly (10th) into the field and in contention for a win in the late stages of the event until an incident inside five laps remaining took Luck from his third potential victory. Four months have passed since that race and Lusk is ready to put himself back in contention.

“First, I’m glad to be going back ARCA racing,” said Lusk. “The ARCA RE/MAX Series means so much to me and to have the opportunity to put ourselves back on the track is exciting. It’s no secret that I have some unfinished business in the series this season. I would like to think I have a good shot at winning the race on Friday night.”

Indeed, Lusk does have a shot. With a career best finish of second in 2002 and two top-20 finishes last season, Lusk picks MIS (Michigan International Speedway) as a venue to add a victory to his resume.

“I like Michigan , always have,” Lusk said. “It’s a fun place to race if you have a good car. There’s a lot of room and the track can be pretty forgiving. I’m excited about our chances even with the NASCAR Nextel Cup teams attempting to make the race. The fans are really in for a treat.”

Aboard Les Barnhart’s Dodge Charger, Lusk feels that this week’s festivities is an opportunity for him to return to racing full time.

“The goal is for me to return to racing full time,” offered Lusk. “We’ve been working hard since Daytona to put a program together to come back and be a threat. We have a great car this weekend. We know what we’re looking for; we just need to be strong from start to finish. We’re looking for additional sponsorship to progress our season forward. A good run could ensure that extra support we need to be racing in a couple weeks.”

Dynatek, Panelite and Race City Steel will sponsor Lusk’s No. 25 Dodge Charger for the only ARCA event held at the Irish Hills track this season.

Dynatek's success is built on a total commitment to the long-term needs of the wireless, cable and fiber-optic industries. As consultants, Dynatek's diverse staff of engineers, technicians and other professionals deliver complete, end-to-end telecommunications solutions.

Race City Steel is your No. 1 source for Steel, aluminum, plastics and lexan.

“We’re excited to have Dynatek back in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and on board this week,” Lusk stated. “They are a great sponsor and very supportive of what we are trying to do. We’re also very excited to have Panelite and Race City Steel join our sponsor lineup. We have a great trio of sponsors. I have a good feeling about Friday’s race.”

The ARCA 200 (100 laps/200 miles) is the 11th of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Thursday, June 14th with a two hour practice (10:00am-12:00pm) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 3:00pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag on Friday at 5:00pm Local Time. The race will be aired live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com
