“Harmon Looking For Stronger Results In The Motor City ”

BROOKLYN, Michigan (June 13, 2007) - - Coming off a 16th place finish last Saturday at Pocono Raceway, Mike Harmon is beginning to think his season is starting to turn the corner. As the ARCA RE/MAX Series heads to Michigan International Speedway for the running of the ARCA 200, Harmon would like to complete all 100 laps and bring home a solid finish in a race expected to be dominated by ARCAwackers.

“I like going to Michigan , because it’s a good place to race if you have a good car, but personally, a lot of us team can’t compete with the bigger boys traveling over from the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series,” Harmon said.

Always known for speaking his mind, the veteran Harmon turns to the Motor City hoping to plant a solid finish to make up for the two disappointing finishes from 2006 at the two-mile facility.

“We struggled here last year,” Harmon recalled. “We had engine problems in both races. This year, I think we’ve picked it up a notch, so hopefully we can survive the race and bring home another solid finish.”

Rewinding back to Pocono Raceway for a second, Harmon saw a top-10 finish dissipate following a miscue on pit road. “We had a top-10 run going, and then we had two of the tires bolted in the wrong spot. Its racing and I know mistakes happen. I have a great young bunch of guys. I think everyone learned their lesson and we’ll try to pick up where we left off.”

Indeed, despite the plethora of NASCAR Nextel Cup Series entered in last week’s event, Harmon knows that anything can happen in racing and that his team can be there to overtake their misfortunate.

“Horsepower is key at a track like Michigan ,” he offered. “If you have a strong motor you can run really good at Michigan . We may not have a motor like some of the bigger teams, but we have some steam under our No. 38 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and we’re going to give everything we have when the green flag flies on Friday.”

Continuing to climb up the points ladder is also crucial for Harmon and his team as the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series progresses and closes in on half-way. “We’re making improvements each week,” he said. “We don’t have a lot of help for these races. We’re trying to get to the track, do some hard racing and trying to get prepare for the next race. Hopefully with a solid finish on Friday night, we can inch our way forward.”

Following the ARCA RE/MAX Series race, Harmon will head south to participate in the NASCAR Busch Series event at Kentucky Speedway. Harmon will pilot the No. 48 Richardson-Netzloff-Harmon Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS hoping to make his third NBS start of the season.

“We’re planning on running the next two NASCAR races,” Harmon disclosed. “Luckily, the way the ARCA schedule fits, we can compete in the next two events and try to enhance our other racing program.”

Richardson-Netzloff-Harmon Racing is still searching for sponsorship of their No. 38 for the remainder of the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Harmon feels he has a lot to offer any potential sponsor.

“We’re a team that can do a lot with a little,” he added. “We’ve been able to do pretty good this season with very little sponsorship money. We just keep plugging hoping that something good is still out there. We’re going to give 150 percent this week and hope for the best.”

The ARCA 200 (100 laps/200 miles) is the 11th of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Thursday, June 14th with a two hour practice (10:00am-12:00pm) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 3:00pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag on Friday at 5:00pm Local Time. The race will be aired live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com
