AGAINST RECKLESS DRIVING

The New York Times
December 5, 1909

President Speare of A. A. A. Will Work to Stop Speed Mania.

Special to The New York Times.

BOSTON, Mass., Dec. 4.—President Lewis R. Speare has returned from New York, where he was re-elected President of the American Automobile Association.  He had held the office of President since last March, when Mr. Hotchkiss resigned, and his work has been so energetic that there was nothing else to do but retain him in office.

This makes the third Boston man who has held the office of President of the American Automobile Association.  The other two were Eliot C. Lee and Harlan W. Whipple.  In speaking of the meeting last night President Speare said:

"We went on record against reckless driving, and an effort will be made this year really to accomplish something along these lines."
