Brooklyn Speedway and Automobiles.
The New York Times
At a meeting of the road drivers at Brooklyn yesterday Chief Engineer Stratford of the Department of Parks explained that the proposed speedway would extend from Twenty-second Avenue to Kings Highway on the Coney Island Boulevard, and be a little over a mile in extent. Commissioner Brower announced that the speedway would probably be finished on June 15.
Complaint was made that automobile drivers run their machines at as high a rate of speed as twenty miles an hour, and Commissioner Brower not only promised to have this stopped, but will hereafter compel the drivers to use the side paths.
