Autogun Off for Washington.

CHICAGO, July 20.—Major Davidson and his three assistant gunners, mounted on their new autogun, bound from Fort Sheridan to Washington, made a brilliant start, only to land in a mudhole, early this morning at Edgewater. In the breakdown a rod of the gun carriage was bent, and not until noon to-day was the journey resumed from army headquarters in this city.
