"Extra cans of oil, plenty of rope, a block and tackle, a small electric light to read the guide books at night, a supply of inner tubes, a coil of copper wire "that is so necessary on every run," a bottle of kerosene to remove carbon from the cylinders, a varied supply of bolts, a collapsible canvas pail for carrying radiator water if a bracket should break, several spark plugs, a tool kit, a small soldering iron for leaks in the radiator, a pump or air bottles, and a can of grease."
