Ordinance Limiting It Passed by the Newport City Council.

NEWPORT, June 12.—A special meeting of the City Council was called this evening to take action on the racing of motor vehicles through the streets of Newport, and an ordinance was unanimously passed making the limit of speed through the more populous parts of the city six miles an hour. Ten miles is to be the limit for the suburban parts.
A penalty not exceeding $20 or imprisonment for ten days, or both, for each offense was specified in the ordinance, which will go into effect immediately.
