Bids for Asphalt Paving Tabulated.

Bids for Asphalt Paving Tabulated.

The New York Times
June 20, 1900

The tabulators in the Department of Highways have completed their work on the bids received the other day for the paving of portions of twenty-seven city streets. The National Asphalt Company is the lowest bidder for the contract for paving Broadway from Forty-second Street to Fourteenth Street. Its figure is $371,093.30. For the other big contract, for paving One Hundred and Twenty-fifth Street, from Third to Eighth Avenue, the Asphalt Construction Company's bid of $99,437.90 is the lowest. The contracts go to the lowest bidders. The National, which is outside the asphalt trust, was the lowest on Broadway and the highest on One Hundred and Twenty-fifth Street.
