Albert Dean Dady, 41, of Garden City, Idaho, pled guilty today in United States District Court in Boise to transportation of a minor with intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
The prosecution arose after Garden City Police and the FBI conducted an investigation showing that Dady, who is a long-haul trucker driving commercial loads across the United States, took an eleven-year-old female with him on a trip through more than 20 states during the summer of 2008. During that trip, the investigation showed that Dady engaged in sexual acts with the child on more than a dozen occasions in different states. Dady also admitted having engaged in sexual contact with the same child on previous occasions before the trip, according to court documents unsealed today.
The federal charge carries a mandatory minimum prison sentence of at least 10 years imprisonment without parole, and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, and supervised release for at least five years, up to life after release from prison. Sentencing is set for August 07, 2009, before Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill in Boise.
U.S. Attorney Moss praised the diligent work of the Garden City Police Department and the cooperation of the FBI. “The most important work we do is protecting our children. Thanks to the FBI and Garden City Police Department for their prompt and professional work on cases like this.”
