Pine Ridge Man Pleads Guilty to Interstate Transportation of Converted Property

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Keith Allison, age 35, of Pine Ridge, appeared before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on August 14, 2012, and pled guilty to a charge of interstate transportation of converted property. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years’ imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine.

Between February 2009 and March 2010, Allison removed valuable parts from a semi-truck he had financed, and then abandoned it. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins.

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for November 26, 2012. The defendant was released on bond pending sentencing.
