Massachusetts Man Sentenced for Theft from Armored Car |

CONCORD, NH—Acting United States Attorney Michael J. Gunnison and Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Warren Bamford announced today that Phoumasay Sihanourath ( Foom-a-say, C-a-nor-eth), of Lowell, Massachusetts, was sentenced to three months in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of aiding and abetting the interstate transportation of stolen property. Sihanourath was also sentenced to three years of supervised release which will begin once he is released from prison. During the period of supervised release, Sihanourath’s behavior will be monitored by the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office.
On January 5, 2009, Sihanourath pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting the interstate transportation of stolen property. Sihanourath admitted that, on August 2, 2008, he helped Kenason Keo Siphanthone (C-pan-tony) remove two money bags from an armored car during a stop at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester and place them in Siphanthone’s vehicle. Siphanthone then drove the bags of money to Lowell where he met Sihanourath and divided the money.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation of this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Don Feith prosecuted this case.
