TOPEKA, KS—A former parts manager for a truck center in Salina has pleaded guilty to stealing from the company, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.
Jamie D. Wood, 35, of Salina, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud. In his plea, he admitted that while he was a parts manager for Kansas Truck Center (KTC) in Salina, Kansas, he created false invoices causing the company to mail checks totaling more than $500,000 to a fictitious vender in Kansas. The false invoices were made to show that KTC purchased truck parts from a friend of the defendant even though the company had received no goods or services from the defendant’s friend.
Sentencing is set for September 17. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. Grissom commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Kenney for their work on the case.
