Delaware Man Charged with Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property

James Sepulveda, a/k/a “Cat Man Jim” was charged today by information with one count of conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property, four counts of interstate transportation of stolen property, and aiding and abetting, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The information alleges that between January 20, 2011 and June 22, 2011, Sepulveda and others stole catalytic converters from more than 100 cars in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, and sold the stolen catalytic converters at a scrap yard located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

If convicted, the defendant faces a total maximum sentence of 45 years’ imprisonment, three years’ supervised release, a $1,250,000 fine, and a $500 special assessment.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department and West Goshen Police Department of Chester County, and numerous other regional and state police agencies in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arlene Fisk.
