The FBI and Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a man near Shiprock on Sunday (June 22, 2014) night.

The man’s body was discovered at approximately 9:26 p.m. on Mesa Farm Road, about six miles west of Shiprock, on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

The location is known locally as the “second wash before the old end of the pavement.”

No vehicle was found at the scene.

The man’s name is being withheld until positive identification can be made.

Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have been in the area around the time the man’s body was found.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI resident agency in Farmington at 505-889-1300 or the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations Office in Shiprock at 505-368-1300.
