March 18th 2013 - It's NCAA March Madness.

And, of course, our favorite team owner and driver is ready to back his beloved Butler Bulldogs this weekend.

As a start to the NCAA tourney and the IZOD IndyCar Series this weekend at St. Petersburg, two of America's most popular mascots dropped by the Ed Carpenter Racing headquarters Monday for a little pep talk.

Blue 2 and 3, the Butler bulldogs, made an appearance as part of the Big Dawgs Tour.

While Carpenter and the Fuzzy's Vodka racing team heads to St. Pete Thursday, the Butler Bulldogs basketball team will be competing in Lexington, Ky., for the second round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament against Bucknell.

Carpenter, a regular at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse during the basketball season, will have to skip the game and prepare for Friday's opening practice rounds in the streets of St. Petersburg. But you can bet that Ed has already sent good wishes to his friend, coach Brad Stevens, for another strong NCAA run.

In 2010 and 2011, Butler stunned the college basketball world by advancing to the NCAA Championship games in Indianapolis and Houston. Unfortunately, the Butler boys came out of the short end of those contests, but the recognition that was gained in those two appearances put the Bulldogs on the sports map.

The Blue 2 and 3 showing at the ECR shop has the racing team ready for this weekend's IZOD IndyCar Series season opener with Ed and the No. 20 Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka Chevrolet Dallara in action.
