Negotiations for 190,000 Acres From Elkhorn Co. Reported.

DETROIT, Nov. 23.—"No definite arrangements have yet been made for the purchase of any coal mine in Kentucky," it was announced here late to-day by William B. Mayo, chief engineer of the Ford Motor Company, when he was told of a New York dispatch which stated that negotiations had been entered into between the Ford Company and the Elkhorn Coal Company for the purchase of 190,000 acres of coal land in Kentucky.




The Elkhorn Coal Company announced yesterday that it had entered into negotiations with the Ford Motor Company for the sale of 190,000 acres of coal land in Kentucky. C. W. Watson, chairman of the Elkhorn Company, said no agreement had been reached.
