The cold weather of the last few days appears to have inconvenienced the wealthy quite as much as the poor people of Yonkers, judging by the number of automobiles, in many instances driven by licensed chauffeurs, that have been seen going back and forth from coal yards, carrying fuel. Many of the cars were expensive and in some instances bags of coal could be seen in them. Sunday long lines of limousines waited near Penn's coal pockets, near the wharf, to get their loads of coal.
Coal drivers do not work on Saturday afternoon or Sunday and consequently many of well-to-do families, unable to have coal delivered, were forced to send their handsome motors to the coal docks. Yesterday many resorted to the same tactics to keep warm.
