Three Years for Running Down and Killing Five-Year-Old Boy.

Nathan Lipzin, taxicab chauffeur of 106 East 156th Street, the Bronx, who last May ran over and killed Herman Struhs, 5 years old, in front of his home at 56 East 130th Street, yesterday was sentenced to serve not more than three years in the prison on Welfare Island by Judge John F. McIntyre in the Court of General Sessions. Lipzin was convicted last Friday.

"The examinations and tests the State makes an applicant for a license submit to are a farce and worthless," said Judge McIntyre. "Only by severity can the number of deaths and injuries be lessened and I intend to make an example of all who come before me."

Judge McIntyre also instructed Assistant District Attorney James E. McDonald to press charges of perjury against several witnesses.
