“Michigan Native To Drive Full-Time For Justin Allgaier Motorsports”
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Michigan (March 12, 2009) - - Officials from Robb Brent Racing (RBR) announced today that Shelby Township, Michigan native Robb Brent has joined Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) and will run the full ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule beginning with the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway on April 5.
Brent will take a light sabbatical from Northwood University (Midland, Michigan) as he purses a full-time effort in the ARCA RE/MAX Series driving for the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship team. Brent will drive the No. 36 Dodge Charger for the Springfield, Illinois based organization.
“This is quite an opportunity,” said Brent, who holds 17 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit. “I wasn’t planning on running the full schedule this year but the opportunity presented itself and we were able to obtain the sponsorship necessary to join the ARCA fight. We’re looking forward to Salem.”
In originally a one-race deal, Brent attempted to make the season-opener with JAM at Daytona International Speedway last month but after a gallant effort the team came up a little short and was forced to spend the first race of the season on the sidelines. Despite the setback, the team isn’t letting the hiccup prevent them from accomplishing their goals this season.
“The championship may be a long shot but we’re going after it,” explained Brent, who holds a career-best ARCA finish of fifth at Kansas Speedway and Pocono Raceway last year. “This team has the resources to continue to lead laps and win races and that’s exactly what we plan to.” Washington Township, Michigan based Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep will continue it’s long-time association with Brent as it also makes the move to JAM as the primary sponsor of the No. 36 entry this season. Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep has backed Brent since his entrance into racing at the age of 16.
“I am honored to continue to represent Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep as I bid to make a successful name for myself in the ARCA RE/MAX Series this year,” sounded Brent. “Everyone is full aware of the current economic crisis, so I’m very humbled and appreciative of everyone at Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep that has made a commitment to see me succeed in stock cars. I hope we’re able to give them a few wins this season.”
To get a jump-start on their season, Brent will join his new racing home as they head to Rockingham, North Carolina to participate in their first official open-test of the 2009 ARCA season Saturday. The team will focus on getting Brent comfortable with his team members while also turning laps at the legendary one-mile oval where Brent hopes to make his first Rockingham start next month.
“I’m anxious for the test,” Brent replied. “There are a lot of expectations for this weekend but our main goal is to find ourselves in a comfortable rhythm and hopefully find a good setup we can feel comfortable with coming back to the race.”
Prior to joining Justin Allgaier Motorsports, Brent participated in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and Brad Keselowski Racing. In his 17 ARCA starts, Brent acquired two top-five finishes and five top-10 efforts. Brent notched his career best qualifying effort of second at Kentucky Speedway last year. He has led the ARCA RE/MAX Series pack twice for 21 laps in 2008. His best finish in the NCWTS occurred at Nashville Superspeedway in his inaugural truck debut where he finished 21st after qualifying 26th.
