Detroit Judge Has Reckless Drivers View Auto Victims' Bodies.
DETROIT, Nov. 22.—In a patrol wagon that clanged its gong with the slow regularity of a funeral tooll, seven men convicted as automobile speeders were taken to the county morgue today to view the bodies of three persons killed by motor cars.
The visit was ordered by Judge Charles L. Bartlett who, in furthering his drive against reckless driving, took a large party to a hospital to view victims of less serious accidents last week. None of the seven men in today's party had any connection with the mishaps that resulted in the deaths of the persons whose bodies they saw.
At the morgue Judge Bartlett delivered a sharp denunciation of reckless motorists. The seven men were taken to jail to serve sentences of from one to ten days in addition to paying fines ranging from $50 to $100.
