Birmingham, Alabama (March 23, 2009) –Bryan Herta Autosport proudly welcomes Le Bleu water as primary sponsor for the Firestone Indy Lights team’s No. 28 Dallara/Firestone machine and 22-year-old American driver, Daniel Herrington.
“We at Le Bleu are really excited to be supporting up-and-coming American driver Daniel Herrington this year in the Firestone Indy Lights Championship,” said Jerry Smith, CEO of Le Bleu. “I will take a great deal of personal satisfaction from seeing Daniel compete with Bryan Herta Autosport for race wins and the championship, Daniel has earned this opportunity through his hard work on and off the track and we are proud to have him representing our brand.”
Le Bleu Corporation, established in 1990, developed the ultimate process to produce the purest and best tasting water in the world. Le Bleu’s purification process eliminates the inorganic minerals and chemicals that may be present in other waters. Le Bleu offers 5-gallon home service in select area across North and South Carolina, and has launched nationally with major distribution chains, and retailers, and several international distributors.
“We at Bryan Herta Autosport are very proud to have Le Bleu join us as primary sponsor for Daniel Herrington and the #28 car for the full 2009 Firestone Indy Lights season,” announced team owner Bryan Herta. “The car looks fantastic in Le Bleu’s corporate colors, and we can’t wait to make our public debut at St. Pete in two weeks. We will be hosting almost 70 guests from Le Bleu at the race, and look forward to kicking off this partnership in style with some great results on the track and off!
The team premiered its blue and white Le Bleu 2009 livery this past weekend at a one day road course test at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama in preparation for the season opening double-header at the Saint Petersburg Grand Prix on April 4-5. Despite battling the flu, Daniel Herrington finished the day of testing fourth quickest with a time of 1 min 16.1771 seconds / 108.694 mph.
“It was definitely encouraging to find ourselves among the leaders at the test especially since I know how much better it could have been if I had been at 100%,” said Herrington of their testing efforts at Barber. “We have two more tests before the races at Saint Petersburg. We plan to make good use of those opportunities in order to be very well prepared to make Le Bleu proud of our efforts and putting ourselves in a position to compete for a win in each race. Their support makes all this possible.”
The St. Pete Grand Prix is always a first class event,” added Herta, “and has added importance this year as it is the first race of the season and our first opportunity to see how all the hard work from the crew guys the last few weeks has paid off. Daniel will be gunning for Rookie of the Year honors, but I’m optimistic that we can set our sights a bit higher and become a darkhorse for the championship. Certainly between Daniel and Vision’s James Davison we have a very potent one-two punch. We can’t wait to get started.”
Firestone Indy Lights initial season of coverage on VERSUS commences April 6 (6 p.m. ET) with the doubleheader on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla.
