Guimarães started his second Indy Lights race from the ninth position with Bryan Herta Autosport. On the start, Guimarães advanced four positions in the No. 29 A1GP Brazil/ BHA Dallara/Firestone machine and took the fifth spot. Eventually, he made his way to fourth where he took the checkered flag.
In his debut last month at Watkins Glen, Guimarães finished on the podium, in third, thus giving him a pair of top-fives in his only two starts. He’ll drive again for BHA in two weeks at Infineon Raceway.
Herrington and the No. 28 Le Bleu car finished where he started, in the sixth spot, but did not have the luxury of running there for the duration of the race. At the start, Herrington dropped to eighth and eventually as low as ninth before charging back through the pack and recapturing the sixth position. He battled Martin Plowman for the last half of the race for the fifth position, but was not able to make the pass on the narrow race course.
Herrington remains seventh in the championship point standings with 296 points (124 points behind the leader).
Congratulations to James Davison on his first win of the season!
