“Idaho Native Tapped To Drive No. 32 Dodge”

SPARTA, Kentucky (July 11, 2007) - - Country Joe Racing is no stranger to putting new talented drivers behind the wheel of their No. 32 Dodge. And as the ARCA RE/MAX Series returns to Kentucky Speedway this week, Country Joe Racing is continuing that tradition by tapping Brian Scott to compete in Friday’s WLWT Channel 5-150.

It’s been a busy season for the Boise , Idaho native. Before making the move to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, Scott has been competing in his late model, while also taking stabs in the USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup series (USAR) and PASS series.

Now, an opportunity of a lifetime has been presented to the young gun and he’s ready to make the best of it.

“I’m very excited to be driving for Country Joe Racing in Kentucky this week,” said Scott. “The team is one of the best in the series. The team is coming off a strong run last week at Berlin and I would like to do nothing more than capitalize on that Friday night.”

While Scott will make his inaugural debut at the 1.5-mile speed plant, he did have the opportunity to test at Kentucky Speedway on June 28. During the eight hour session, the rookie racked in the third fastest time overall with a time of 30.96 seconds at 174.419 MPH.

“I think we impressed a lot of people at the test,” Scott added. “A lot of the success has to deal with the Country Joe Racing team. They have their program together. Whether they come to a short track or a speedway they are fast and competitive. That is comforting for any new driver. We’ll plan on backing on our practice times during practice and look for a good finish.”

When asked what a good finish is in his books, Scott paused but answered truthfully.

“I would like to think that we have a shot at winning the race. However, if we are not in a position to win the race but capable of a solid top-10 then that is what I’ll go for. The goal is to learn and work with my other competitors on Friday. It’s going to be a tough field, but I plan to respect my competition and race them when it counts, I’m expecting good things on Friday night.”

Nate Thiesse, Director of Operations for Country Joe Racing offered, “The team is excited to have Brian Scott driving for us this week. His racing background is extensive and impressive. Their isn’t a doubt in anyone’s mind at Country Joe Racing that he can’t get the job done. Our second win of the season could easily come on Friday night.”

Red Line Oil will adorn the No. 32 Dodge Charger this week as the primary sponsor.

The WLWT Channel 5-150 (100 laps/150 miles) is the 13 of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 13th ARCA race held at Kentucky Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Friday, July 13 with a two hour and 15 minute (11:30am-1:45pm) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 4:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag shortly after 8:00pm Local Time with live coverage on SPEED. Additional race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
