POCONO, Pennsylvania (Wednesday, August 1, 2007) - - As the ARCA RE/MAX Series returns to Pocono Raceway this weekend, Stott Classic Racing and Billy Tanner return to the 2.5-mile triangle track looking to put their season back on track and bring the No. 07 CheapCaribbean.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo home in the top-10.

The team heads into Saturday’s Pennsylvania 200 looking to rebound from a string of misfortunate which has kept the North Carolina team down but not out.

In June, Tanner made his Pocono Raceway debut but limped around to finish the event 27th after being hit from behind from another competitor on a restart. Despite the tough run, Tanner gained volumes of experience which he feels will aid him this weekend.

“I don’t have a lot of fond memories of Pocono,” said Billy Tanner. “It’s a tough track to learn and if you don’t catch on, you will be out to lunch. Luckily, we started practice in the dark, but we were making considerable progress during the race and I think we would have capped off the day with a solid top-20 run, but another driver had problems on a restart and we got drilled. We haven’t had much good lucky lately; I want to change that this weekend.”

Following the first Pocono event, the team skipped the next two events from Michigan before returning to Kentucky Speedway last month. Tanner was able to overcome tire issues in practice to qualify into the race. However, contact from Rob Bunker on lap 18 sent the No. 07 hard into the wall abruptly ending the team’s night.

Now with a couple weeks break and the team chilled out, Tanner would like to end his recent string of tough luck and put his Stott Classic Racing team back in competition.

“The last couple of races have been tough on our Stott Classic Racing team,” continued Tanner. “We’ve made great progress, but we deserve to be finishing races and that’s our goal this weekend, finish the race.”

Sailing into Pocono, Tanner is in the sixth of 12 races with SCR (Stott Classic Racing) and sponsor CheapCaribbean.com, as the group is using this season as track time to prepare for a full season run in 2008.

“Corrie and the whole team have done a great job this season,” offered Tanner. “We’ve made some great strides in the improvement of our race team. The communication between myself and Corrie is getting better each week and I think as we enter halfway into our program this season, we’re only going to pick up the pace.”

For crew chief and car owner Corrie Stott, he believes Pocono is a chance for the team to redeem themselves.

“Kentucky was tough to swallow for the team,” said Stott. “We have a good team and a great driver; we just can’t seem to shake our string of tough runs. The good news is that we’re returning to a track that Billy has experience at. The more track time he received, the more comfortable he became and that’s important. I think Billy and the team will be just fine this weekend.”

The Pennsylvania 200 (80 laps/200 miles) is the 14 of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 45th ARCA race held at Pocono Raceway is a two-day show. Practice begins Friday, August 3 with an hour and 45 minute (10:15am-11:55am) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 1:45pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag on Saturday, August 4 shortly after 1:00pm Local Time with live coverage on SPEED. Additional race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
