OREGON, Wisconsin (August 24, 2011) - - With the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards returning to Madison International Speedway for the first time in nearly 40 years, it’s only seems right that Win-Tron Racing will bring a familiar face back on the tour for Friday night’s Herr’s Live Life With Flavor 200.
Lakeville, Minnesota driver and 2005 ARCA Racing Series Rookie of the Year Joey Miller will return to the series for the first time since 2007 when he takes the green flag in Friday’s night showdown in the No. 32 Champion Brands / Win-Tron Racing Dodge Charger.
Miller, a five-time winner in the ARCA Racing Series easily heads into the event as a pre-race favorite, after all the experience he has mounted over the years should play well into the team’s hand. Still, Miller knows that it’s been a while since he’s been behind the wheel of an ARCA car, so he’s looking to get comfortable before hammering down during the race.
“I’m awfully excited about returning to the ARCA Racing Series with Win-Tron Racing,” said Miller, who last made his ARCA start at Chicagoland Speedway nearly four years ago. “The team has done very well with a mixture of drivers this year and we’re heading to one of my favorite tracks in the Midwest, so I’m just hoping for a good showdown for the team and everyone at Champion Brands.”
ARCA’s welcomed reunion with the Wisconsin short track signifies the 14th race that Champion Hi-Tech Lubricants, a division of Champion Brands will heed the role as the primary sponsor for the Lakeville, Minnesota-based team. Headquartered in Clinton, Missouri, Champion Brands LLC produces and blends more than 300 products including fuel, oil and engine additives and lubricants for the automotive, heavy truck, agricultural and specialty markets.
“Anytime Joey Miller gets behind the wheel on a short track, it’s exciting,” said Win-Tron Racing co-car owner Nate Thiesse. “I know he hasn’t been in an ARCA car for a while, but I expect him to climb into the car on Friday afternoon and not miss a beat. He’s a good kid with a lot of talent. He’s very familiar with Madison International Speedway, so we’re extremely optimistic about delivering our second ARCA win of the season.”
Miller is set to make his 31st career start in the 15th race of the 2011 season. In his previous 30 races, Miller has landed six poles, five wins, 13 top-fives and 19 top-10 efforts. He has controlled the ARCA field for 1,013 laps over the course of four seasons (2004 – 2007).
The Herr’s Live Life With Flavor 200 (200 laps / 100 miles) is the 15th of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The fourth-ever ARCA event held at Madison International Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Friday, August 26 with an hour and a half practice session planned from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. An on-track autograph session has been etched into the schedule from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The field will take the green flag shortly after 8:30 p.m. that evening.
