“Sheltra Motorsports PR Representative Also Asked To Participate In Festivities”

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (January 16, 2008) - - With the Holidays over and plenty of rest and relaxation, sophomore bound ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Patrick Sheltra is ready to get back to business. To officially kick off the New Year, Sheltra will participate in this weekend’s Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels held at the Atlantic City New Jersey Convention Center from Friday, January 18 to Sunday, January 20, 2008.

Sheltra is the only ARCA RE/MAX Series driver scheduled for all three days of festivities where he will sign autographs at the Pocono Raceway booth while also talk about his upcoming season and his thoughts on returning to Pocono, where Sheltra notched finishes of 24th and 11th respectively last season.

Sheltra, who announced in December that he will return to the ARCA RE/MAX Series full-time in 2008 driving a mixture of Chevrolets and Dodges for Whitesville, Kentucky-based Sheltra Motorsports, will begin meeting fans on Friday, January 18 from 3:00-5:00pm before returning on Saturday, January 19 from 1:00-3:00pm. Sheltra will also participate in the final day of activities on Sunday, January 20 also from 1:00-3:00pm. In addition to signing autographs, the 21-year old driver has also been asked to be a judge in the highly anticipated Ms. Motorsports pageant which is scheduled to being at 4:00pm Saturday.

“I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to participate in Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels,” said the Indiantown, Florida native. “We started preparing for this show last month and I can’t believe it’s finally here. This is the first appearance for me this season and I’m anxious to get to Atlantic City and see the show first hand.”

"We're always very excited to have a young upcoming driver like Patrick Sheltra attend one of our Motorsports shows,” stated Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels show promoter Len Sammons. “Fans get a chance to meet a young driver and get his autograph early in their career and then they follow them as they and cheer them on as they move up the ladder in our sport.”

When asked about being a judge for the Ms. Motorsports pageant, Sheltra wasn’t shy about talking about it. “It’s a real honor. They have a great panel of judges, but for me to be asked is truly humbling.”

Sheltra though isn’t the only member of his team that will make an appearance this weekend in New Jersey . Chris Knight, Sheltra Motorsports team Public Relations representative has also been asked by officials from Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels to participate in the “Working With The Media” workshop which is scheduled for Saturday. “I just want to thank everyone at Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels for the opportunity this weekend. Words cannot express how thrilled I am about attending a show and workshop of this magnitude,” sounded Knight.

From New Jersey , Sheltra will hop a plane and head to Talladega , Alabama where he will join the remainder of his Sheltra Motorsports team for a private test at Talladega Superspeedway, the 2.666-mile superspeedway on Tuesday, January 22nd in preparation for next month’s ARCA 200 at Daytona, the 56th annual season opener for the ARCA RE/MAX Series. The team has made changes to their Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS since posting a top-10 time in the overall drafting run last month and sees the confidential session as a chance to make some final changes and laps with the intent to make a sensational debut at Daytona International Speedway on February 9, 2008.

“Testing is what is going to pay off for this team this year,” added Sheltra, who is also scheduled to run seven NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events this season. “Keith (Strunk, team manager) and John (Hayden, former ARCA driver and crew chief) have been working on some big changes to our car and they really think they found some elements which should make us even stronger at Daytona. We’ll use the day of testing at Talladega to get it all figured out before returning for the big race next month.”

From the test, Sheltra will have zero time to relax as he’ll head to Brunswick , Georgia to participate in 10 nights of consecutive dirt racing at Golden Isles Speedway in his No. 23 Chevrolet, before heading back to Indiantown, Florida for another Motorsports related appearance before making the trip to Daytona International Speedway for ARCA Speedweeks.

“I’m going to be extremely busy over the next couple of weeks, so I guess it’s a good thing that I had plenty of rest and relaxation lately,” Sheltra noted. “I am not going to complain though. I truly enjoy doing the appearances and I love mixing it up on the dirt. The race at Brunswick is huge and I hope the runs we expect to have on the dirt will carry over to our ARCA program at Daytona.”
