The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today released the second group of 1998 frontal and side-impact crash test results. The release, NHTSA 14-98, shows frontal crash test results for the Honda Civic four-door, Toyota Corolla four-door, Subaru Legacy four-door, Chevrolet Lumina four-door, Chevrolet Malibu four-door, Ford Taurus four-door, Toyota Avalon four-door, Ford Explorer 4x4 four-door utility, Toyota 4Runner 4x4 four-door utility, Chevrolet S10 extended cab pickup, Ford F150 pickup, Chevrolet Venture van, and the Toyota Sienna van. These new test results, along with results for vehicles tested previously that remain valid because the same or essentially the same vehicles are being sold in model year 1998, provide safety information on a total of 60 vehicles.

Side-impact tests results included are for the Honda Civic two-door, Toyota Corolla four-door, Mitsubishi Eclipse two-door, Nissan Altima four-door, and the Toyota Avalon four-door.
