Welcome To ARCA: 17-year old Jake Francis will attempt to make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut in Sunday’s Governor’s Cup 200 at The Milwaukee Mile. It’s the first of two planned events for the avid racecar driver this season before etching out a most intense racing schedule in 2008.
Preparation Is Everything: Jake Francis and his Rebecca Kasten Racing team have spent months preparing their No. 61 Dodge Intrepid for Sunday’s milestone event. The team had hoped to join the circuit earlier this year, but the team decided to focus on the car 100 percent before dipping in the developmental series for NASCAR.
Hailing Ohio : Jake Francis will be one of two drivers representing the state of Ohio in Sunday’s ARCA RE/MAX Series event. Francis, hailing from Leroy , Ohio , a suburb of Cleveland , Ohio will look to battle out fellow competitor and West Milton , Ohio ’s Greg Seevers (No. 81) for the top recognition.
Watcha Haulin?: The team will unveil a Dodge Intrepid recently purchased from ST2 Motorsports and driver Chevy White, a former team that competed in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. ST2 Motorsports past results with the equipment gives Rebecca Kasten Racing good vibes about their effort this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile.
Not Just A Driver: While Milwaukee will provide the first chance for Francis to get behind the wheel, he experienced the ARCA RE/MAX Series first hand in February when he worked as a crew member for female ARCA RE/MAX Series sensation Jennifer Jo Cobb at Daytona International Speedway.
Thanks For Your Support: Francis Engineering, Habco Tool & Development, Bonner Frams, Campana Excavating, J.R. Collins Trucking and Sander Excavating will also join Francis in their ARCA debut this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile.
Rebecca Kasten Racing, LLC, The Milwaukee Mile Pre-Race Quotes:
Jake Francis, driver of the No. 61 Francis Engineering, Habco Tool & Development Dodge:
On Joining The ARCA RE/MAX Series: “I cannot begin to express how excited I am for this weekend’s event. This has been a dream of mine for many, many years to compete in an ARCA event and it’s finally coming true. I cannot wait to walk through the garage at The Milwaukee Mile!”
On The Milwaukee Mile: “What a place! I’ve never had the opportunity to race there, but I’m looking forward to it. We had several choices to pick our debut and we felt that Milwaukee was the best choice. We hope we are right!”
On Jennifer Jo Cobb: “Jennifer Jo Cobb is a very important person to me. She is not only a talented driver, but she is a great friend and mentor. She has given me a lot of advice and while she is going to try and attend the race, I know she has prior commitments. Nonetheless, her encouragement will be something I will cherish the entire weekend.”
On The Sponsor Support: “Today in racing, you cannot compete without the help of sponsors. I’m very lucky to have a numbers of backers for this weekend. I’m very appreciative of them helping me make history. Hopefully we can have a clean and good run on Sunday.”
