Dustin Delaney Looks For More In Milwaukee

WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin (August 23, 2007) - - If ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Dustin Delaney didn’t turn heads with his quiet yet impressive 14th place finish at Illinois State Fairgrounds last Sunday, then he’s hoping he’ll make some noise as he invades The Milwaukee Mile for Sunday’s Governor’s Cup 200.

Delaney, a new driver added to the Carter-2-Motorsports driver development program has not even seen the legendary Milwaukee Mile, but he’s not letting the inexperience halt him from dreaming of a top-10 finish in his second career start.

Driving the No. 48 FreeFeds.org Dodge Charger for car owners Roger Carter and James Hylton, Delaney heads west from New York looking to make another lasting impression in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

“What a pleasure it is to be here in the ARCA RE/MAX Series,” said Delaney, a native of Mayfield , New York . “If I said I wasn’t nervous last weekend at Springfield , I would have been lying. But, this week I’m going to Milwaukee with some confidence and a great team behind me, I’m just looking forward to getting on the track.”

When asked if the inexperience at the Magic Mile will hinder him, Delaney answered, “Heading into a track that a driver has zero experience can be freighting. There is a lot of pressure to perform in any racing series, including ARCA. We have to utilize every second of practice to dial in a good setup. We’re not locked into the starting grid, so I’m relying on the experience of my crew to give me a good car. I know they will.”

At the present time, Delaney is running a limited schedule behind the wheel of the No. 48 Dodge, but he’s hoping that with time, maybe something more permanent will develop.

“I’m very thankful to Roger Carter, James Hylton and the entire Carter-2-Motorsports team for the opportunity they have presented to me. We have a couple races nailed down for the rest of the season, but maybe with a couple more performances like last weekend, we’ll announce something on a permanent basis in the immediate future.”

Roger Carter, car owner of the No. 48 Dodge Charger spoke out about his newcomer’s early success. “I tell you, Dustin’s run last weekend at Springfield , brought us back to the early season memories of Lakeland , Salem and Winchester ,” he said. “Dustin did an absolutely fabulous job and brought the car home in one piece without a scratch. As an owner, you can’t ask for much more. He impressed a lot of people, including me. I know he can do it again this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile, and we’re looking forward to seeing it.”

The Free Feds Foundation (FreeFeds.org) will sponsor Delaney as he attempts to make his second career ARCA start Sunday.

FreeFeds.org’s sole purpose is to gain public support for adding parole for non-violent, non repeat offenders to the federal prison system. They are of the belief that the federal justice system is in need of a total reform. The organization, however, is mainly interested in working toward adding a system of parole for non-violent offenders as part of that overall reform.

In addition to FreeFeds.org, Explore America, The Idaho Observer, RVrentToGo.com, 100fold.net, and Accelerating Developments International (ADI) will join the team’s effort in the 10th RE/MAX Series event held at The Milwaukee Mile.

“We have a great group of sponsors here at Carter-2-Motorsports,” sounded Delaney. “I’ve had the opportunity to have a meet and greet with several of the sponsors and I’m very proud to be carrying their logos. I know they didn’t have to take a chance on me, but I am extremely grateful for their support and faith in me. I’m looking forward to giving them some exposure on Sunday.”

The Governor’s Cup 200 (200 laps/200 miles) is the 17th of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 10th ARCA race held at The Milwaukee Mile is a two day show. Practice begins Saturday August 25 with an hour and 15 minute session planned from 1:00pm-2:15pm. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 5:15pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag Sunday August 26 shortly after 12:00pm Local Time. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com.

Carter-2-Motorsports (www.carter2motorsports.com) whose ARCA RE/MAX Series operation is based in Statesville , North Carolina will run Dodge Chargers in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Nextel Cup Series (NNC) in 2007. The team will run the No. 48 handed over from the legendary James Hylton who retired from ARCA competition following the 2006 season finale at the new Iowa Speedway. The organization also runs a second ARCA team part time this season utilizing the No. 67. The organization also plans to run the No. 54 in the premier series of NASCAR, the NNC series later this year.
