“Spraker Racing Enterprises Team Looks For Third Top-10 In Short Track Thriller”

MANSFIELD, Ohio (Thursday, August 23, 2007) - - After a weekend of twists and turns, it’s back to the racetrack for NASCAR Busch East Series driver Michelle Theriault as the competition makes a stop in the Midwest at Mansfield Motorsports Park Saturday night.

Former starts at Mansfield Motorsports Park in the United Speed Alliance Racing (USAR) Hooter’s Pro Cup Series gives Theriault an advantage over the rest of her competition with the stout equipment she receives week in and week out from her Spraker Racing Enterprises team.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Mansfield this weekend,” said Theriault, the only full-time female NASCAR driver this season. “ Mansfield is a track that suits my driving style and we are in desperate need of returning to the top-10. We’ve had a solid stretch of consistent top-20 finishes, but we need to start delivering some top-10s before the season runs out.”

With MMP (Mansfield Motorsports Park) being the fifth inaugural site on the 2007 schedule, Theriault feels she may have an advantage over the rest of her competition.

“Any time you acquire seat time at a track that a lot of people are fresh at, it’s an advantage,” she said. “I’m expecting my Hooter’s experience to come in handy on Saturday. While some of my fellow colleagues will be spending the first practice learning how to get around the track, we can get down to business and concentrate on qualifying and race setups.”

She continued, “What a difference last week and this week have made. Last weekend, I was at a track in which I was incredibly unfamiliar. Now, I’m heading to a track where I have some experience and should be a contender. It’s a good feeling.”

Michelle mentions her Spraker Racing Enterprises crewmates, “The team has built some great short track cars this season and Mansfield should be no different,” added Theriault. “I’m looking forward to doing some beating and banging this weekend. The one unique characteristic about Mansfield though is you have to have a car that handles well. Without a good setup, you’re a sitting duck. Luckily for me, I have plenty of experience and talent surrounding me, so we should have a pretty good showing on Saturday night.”

Sitting 12th in the championship standings heading into MMP this weekend, Theriault knows that a good run is crucial if she wants to make a dent towards the top-10.

“At the beginning of the season, we knew we had a team capable of finishing in the top-10. Right now, we’re just sitting outside that mark. There aren’t very many races left and we have a lot of ground to make up, so every position, every point and every strategy is crucial. With a little luck and patience, our goal should be complete by season’s end.”

Following Saturday’s NASCAR Busch East Series race, Theriault will concentrate on returning to the ARCA RE/MAX Series behind the wheel of the No. 37 GLOCK, Inc. Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS for the running of the Gateway ARCA 150 at Gateway International Raceway on August 31.

The Mansfield 150 (150 laps/75 miles) is the 11th of 14 races on the 2007 NASCAR Busch East Series schedule. The first annual Mansfield 150 is a one-day show. Practice begins on Saturday, August 25 with a forty-five minute session rolling off at 10:00am. An additional practice session has been etched in from 11:45am to 12:30pm. Busch pole qualifying is set for 2:00pm with the race set to take the green flag shortly after 5:30pm.
