TALLADEGA, Alabama (October 1, 2007) - NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) rookie Brian Scott would be lying if he said he wasn’t excited about making his restrictor plate debut in Friday’s ARCA RE/MAX 250 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Scott has reunited with Country Joe Racing (CJR) for the final speedway race of the season and the duo is looking to storm to the top and reel in the team’s second victory of the season.

Taking the extra step to try and assure that victory, CJR joined over 30 ARCA RE/MAX Series teams last week for an open test at the 2.666-mile facility with solid results placing 19th out of 44 cars in attendance after notching a time of 52.580 seconds at 182.122 MPH. After making further adjustments to secure a thundering performance, Scott is anxious about Friday’s thriller.

“I’m looking forward to Talladega ,” said Scott, a resident of Mooresville , North Carolina . “I strongly believe that the testing paid off. We worked on a bunch of different angles and the adjustments we’ve made since the test should reward us on Friday.”

Scott returns to the CJR seat for the second time this season as Scott made his inaugural ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) debut in the WLWT Channel 5-150 at Kentucky Speedway in July. Rewinding back to his debut, Scott practiced solidly inside the top-20, qualified a respectable 19th and mastered through a competitive field to notch a smooth 13th place finish under the lights.

Now switching gears from a speedway event to a “restrictor plate” race, Scott knows that he has a lot to learn as he makes his transition to a superspeedway. However, the Boise, Idaho native is eager to learn.

“You really wouldn’t think you would learn a lot on a track like Talladega, but I’ll learn an awful lot,” continued Scott. “From the draft, to the car and even to the track, there is a lot to learn. The learning experience started with the test last week and by the time the race concludes on Friday, I know I can head into my next superspeedway race with a lot more knowledge.”

The goals that Scott has set are realistic, but he also wants to keep the team solid in the owner championship standings.

“Country Joe Racing has the capabilities of winning,” Scott added. “They’ve already proven that this year. However, if we aren’t in a position to win, then I have to think about what’s best not only for me but for my team. They have worked hard all year to stay in the top-10 in the owner standings and I don’t want to do anything to keep that from happening. With a little patience and some luck we should be in the top-10 all day.”

Scott sounded, “Talladega is the only remaining NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race I won’t be able to compete it, but the ARCA race will definitely help me be approved to run Daytona next year and for that I am very grateful to Country Joe Racing for allowing me to drive their Dodge this week to make that possible.”

Nate Thiesse, Director of Operations for Country Joe Racing offered, “It’s great to have Brian Scott back with us for Talladega. The test went very well and we feel what Brian learned at the test will help us immensely for the race on Friday. Brian is a great talent and we know that he is going to give us 150 percent and we can’t ask for much more than that.”

In addition to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, Brian Scott also competes in the NCTS behind the wheel of the No. 16 Ford F-150 for Xpress Motorsports.

The ARCA RE/MAX 250 (94 laps/250 miles) is the 22nd of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 45th ARCA race held at Talladega Superspeedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Thursday, October 4 with a two and a half hour practice session planned from 9:00-11:30am. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 3:30pm Local Time. A “Happy Hour” final practice has been etched into the schedule for Friday, October 5 for forty-five minutes from 10:05am-10:50am Local Time. The event will take the green flag on October 5 shortly after 4:00pm Local Time. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com.
