KENT, Wash. – After a record-setting event at Sonoma Raceway last weekend, TJ Zizzo and the rest of the NHRA Mello Yello Series were looking forward to more quick times at the O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways near Seattle. That was not to be, however, as Mother Nature played her hand Friday. The area had not seen rain in more than a month but as the NHRA is wont to do, the precipitation followed the tour to the Pacific Northwest, causing Day 1 of qualifying to be cancelled. As such, cars will only be allowed to make two qualifying runs on Saturday.
"It's rough," said PEAK Motor Oil Top Fuel pilot TJ Zizzo, watching the drizzle fall outside his pit. "You're ready to race, you want that competition, and then this happens. Ah well. We'll hit the reset button tomorrow and get down the track then."

Zizzo Racing and the PEAK Motor Oil Top Fuel dragster next race at Pacific Raceways near Seattle this weekend in the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals. Saturday’s nitro qualifying is 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with eliminations scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday.
