CLERMONT, Ind. – In times of need, one tends to turn to family and in racing, regardless of what happens ontrack, the sport is one big family.

"Trackside" Tina Pettet, a longtime media presence throughout motorsports, is suffering from a rare form of ovarian cancer called clear cell ovarian cancer. It accounts for five percent of ovarian cancers in the world and Tina was diagnosed as stage 11C in June, 2010, after a complete hysterectomy. After six rounds of treatment, the cancer went into remission but returned after a year where she was told there would be no chance for remission and there is no cure.

TJ Zizzo and Zizzo Racing have been friends with "Trackside Tina" for years and decided to do something to help ease her financial suffering by hosting a fund-raising auction at the PEAK Motor Oil hospitality tent Sunday at Lucas Oil Raceway. The auction, filled with some amazing items including autographed memorabilia from some of the biggest names in the sport, is scheduled to begin one hour after the final round of qualifying for the Chevrolet Performance US Nationals and all fans are invited to come out, meet TJ and the team, and bid on some great items.

"I got to know Tina as a media person and over the years, we became great friends with her," TJ said, taking a break from working on the PEAK Motor Oil rail. "We understand how hard it can be to not only be sick, but to have to worry about your bills as well. Hopefully, our amazing fans will come out Sunday evening and help us raise some money for a great cause and a great person."

TJ Zizzo and the PEAK Motor Oil Top Fuel team are racing at the granddaddy of them all this weekend, The Big Go. It’s the 59th Annual Chevrolet Performance US Nationals near Indianapolis. The final two rounds of qualifying are expected to take place Sunday at 12:45 and 4:40 p.m. Eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Labor Day.
