CLERMONT, Ind. – At the Big Go, with 25 Top Fuelers looking to become immortal on Monday, every thousandths of a second counts. Despite a day at the 59th Annual Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals that only saw one round of qualifying due to a thunder storm that didn't want to go away, TJ Zizzo and the PEAK Motor Oil team raced to a 3.949-second ET Saturday afternoon despite losing a cylinder, putting him provisionally in 14th in the field. The Chicagoland native ran a 4.916 Friday night after spinning the tires late.

"It was fine," Zizzo said after the second run was canceled. "We needed to put (the car) down the race track and we ended up dropping a hole around 2.3 seconds and still ran a .94. We were the fifth-quickest car of the session which is what we're here to do.

"I think it still puts us outside the show because I don't think that will hold up. So we'll start over tomorrow."

Brittany Force remained at the top of the NHRA Mello Yello Series Top Fuel class with the 3.820-second pass she made Friday night.

Qualifying is expected to continue Sunday at 12:45 p.m. local time.

TJ Needs YOUR Help: For those at the track, TJ and Zizzo Racing is hosting a fundraising auction Sunday one hour after the final round of qualifying to assist "Trackside" Tina Pettet with her battle against a rare form of ovarian cancer. The auction will feature some very unique items and all fans are welcome. For more information on "Trackside Tina" and her efforts to eradicate ovarian cancer, visit her Team Trackside Tina page on Facebook by clicking HERE.

TJ Zizzo and the PEAK Motor Oil Top Fuel team are racing at the granddaddy of them all this weekend, The Big Go. It’s the 59th Annual Chevrolet Performance US Nationals near Indianapolis. The final two rounds of qualifying are expected to take place Sunday at 12:45 and 4:40 p.m. Eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Labor Day.
