How To Run An Event - JLR Style

Dateline: Friday 13th and a band of car enthusiasts from around Britain are descending upon a country estate near Solihull. What a date to pick; yet it’s funny how these things can be lucky for some.

Early arrivals were greeted by the sight you see in the images. To run an event like this, whilst appearing to be straightforward, must be a logistical nightmare. It was being overseen by a small Jaguar Land Rover team who waited patiently as the ravening band of car journos descended upon them.

At the heart of the matter a resolute lady - The Keeper Of The Keys - stood firm in the face of this horde of hard-bitten hacks, managing, more or less, to maintain control.

As names were taken and facts noted it quickly became clear that these writers and photographers could empty a parc ouvert faster than George Osborne can empty your wallet.

The images here don’t really do justice to the extent that JLR pushed the boat out to give everyone a good go across the whole range of products. The surrounding countryside soon reverberated to the sound of powerful engines being pounded around a well designed and thorough route that gave both car and driver a jolly good workout.

Coffee and tea flowed, tasty snacks and a generous lunch were served but, at an event like this, it is the cars that are stars. Breathtaking sports cars and sumptuous Range Rovers delivered a taste of what it is like to own this Great British brand, but the helpful JLR staff deserve a hand too because without them it could all have gone so horribly wrong.
