With July’s Collector Car Appreciation Day celebration just around the corner, media personality Courtney Hansen is promoting this automotive “holiday” in a new video Public Service Announcement. A lifelong “gearhead,” Hansen is well known for television roles that have included host of “Overhaulin’,” Spike TV’s “Powerblock” and Velocity Television Network’s “Vinsetta Garage.” She is also the author of “The Garage Girl's Guide to Everything You Need to Know About Your Car.”

Recently, the U.S. Senate passed Senate Resolution 176 (S. Res. 176) at the request of the SEMA Action Network (SAN) designating July 12, 2013 as “Collector Car Appreciation Day.” The date marks the fourth commemoration in what has become an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. By taking part in these events around the country, automotive enthusiasts are ensuring that their passion is honored and recognized.
There is still time to get involved. Individuals and car clubs have been registering their gatherings for inclusion on the official homepage: semaSAN.com/CCAD. Event ideas are availableat this link. However you choose, please pay tribute to our hobby’s special day by holding or attending a celebration near you. Encourage others to follow suit. Let’s get those cars and trucks out of the garage and onto the road!
Please submit the details of your celebration using this link. For questions, contact SAN Director Colby Martin at 909-978-6721 or san@sema.org. You may also download the official logo and flyer from the homepage and help promote this special day.
