In a brief e-mail to the touring series’ it was announced Veteran’s Raceway Park, Tomah, is under new management. The e-mail stated, “As of now, new management will not be having any touring series on the schedule for the remainder of the year.”
Mid-American owner, Doug Strasburg comments on the change, “Opening a new track in this racing economic climate is a challenge to say the least. It may take adjustments to get some footing. Mid-American wishes them the best and hopes the Mid-American family will support this track as well as others in their communities.”
As tour promoters re-think their schedules, Mid-American will try to replace the August 9th Vercauteren Memorial race date. Strasburg says, “At this stage of the season the tracks have their schedules pretty well etched in stone and need to consider if they would be able to affectively promote a short notice race.” Strasburg optimistically continues, “That being said, we will be putting every effort into putting a replacement August Vercauteren Memorial event on the schedule.”
In other Mid-American news, Sopwith Motorsports Television Productions of Indianapolis has filmed four Mid-American races already this season with Rockford and LaCrosse still on the schedule.
