Matt Panure
Mid American Stock Car Series
August 25, 2012

Fort Atkinson (August 25, 2012) The Mid-American Stock Cars will have had two weeks to prepare to do battle. Madison International Speedway track general manager, Dave Grueneberg MIS: MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAYMIS: MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAYanticipates the excitement of Mid-American stating, “With the racing I have seen your racers doing this year I look forward to your feature. They do it while showing lot of respect for each other.”

2010 Mid-American champ and current point leader Lyle Nowak of Wausau, holds a slim lead over veteran Jeremy Spoonmore of Somonauk, IL and hard charging Rookie contender, Ryan Farrell of East Troy, WI.

A former MIS winner, Nowak will be a favorite come Labor Day weekend at MIS. Spoonmore, really coming on to his own this season, also holds MIS winner bragging rights. Coming off his second Mid-Am victory and a second place this season in the last three races, he’s got the momentum. Smooth driving Spoonmore say’s “ We aren’t planning anything different than to run each race as it’s own”.

James Swan, another MIS winner and multi-Mid-Am Champ, has slipped to seventh in the point race after missing two races and will have to overcome fierce competition from 2010 champ Lyle Nowak and 2011 and multi MIS winner Jeremy Spoonmore for that “Salute to America” trophy. Hard charging rookie, Ryan Farrell, running a strong third in points, will test his versatility against the experience of the wily veterans.

1999 Mid-Am Champion Rick Corso will return as a challenger in the 40 lap feature at MIS. He recently closed a deal that left him with a Mid-American car in which he hopes to make a run at the 2013 Mid-Am Championship. “ I’m very excited to be back in the Mid-Am family”, Corso stated. He continues, “It’s like I’m returning to my roots.”

MIS will once again host an awesome fireworks display brought to you by Thundercat Fireworks of Madison. See you all there this Friday night, July 31, 2012!
