DELLS DUEL II SATURDAY

Matt Panure
Mid American Stock Car Series
August 10, 2012

Dells Raceway Park will host the Dells Duel II Saturday, August 11, 2012. For several years Hankscraft Inc. of nearby Reedsburg, through the work of Mark Blume and Jim Francisco, has been a great supporter of the Mid-American Stock Car Series. They initiated the Dells Duel, with a traveling plaque of names that include the names of the overall winner of two races each year. Hankscraft also sponsors, fourth in points and multi Series Champ, James Swan who has a conflict and will not be competing this weekend.

2010 Champ, Lyle Nowak, winner of the June 9th Dells Duel I race is leading the charge in the Mid-American point standings. But with only eighty points down to spot four, Lyle needs to stay focused. Leading rookie contender Ryan Farrell, currently second in points, has kept his sights on the championship since his win at the season opener at Rockford Speedway. Only two more points back and in search of his first championship is Jeremy Spoonmore, who brought home the win at State Park Speedway in July then backed it up with a second place finish two weeks ago at Grundy County Speedway, Morris, IL.

The rest of the Mid-American stars will be battling for headway and will be joined by a couple new faces behind the wheel this Saturday. “We are always excited to invite new drivers to the series races with the hope they enjoy it and want to follow as we travel.” said Doug Strasburg, co-owner of the Series. He continued, “It isn’t for everyone, but those who have made the commitment have been awesome. We are a family oriented series and try to instill the ‘priority list’ in them. Family and ‘house’ should come first and if that means you can’t race, it’s ok and we respect them for it. We’ve seen them leave only to return when things are in order.”

Join the fun and excitement in what promises to be a “Beautiful Racing Weekend!”
