MASCS MEMBERS GEAR UP FOR THE 20th

FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (March 26, 2011) – The list of 2012 Mid-American Stock Car Series Driver Members is getting longer as the first race is just a couple weeks away. Co-owners of MASCS Doug and Julie Strasburg are excited about the prospective roster for the 20th Anniversary of MASCS.

Joining the veterans of MASCS is a sprinkling of new faces ready to face the challenge. 30 drivers have taken advantage of purchasing an early Mid-American Stock Car Series membership. Member advantages include: receiving race event awards, eligibility to receive point funds at the Awards banquet at seasons end, becoming a Rookie of the Year contender and receive subsequent rookie awards at the banquet, eligibility for the Sportsman of the Year Award, for the huge product and prize drawings at the Awards Banquet and various discounts including entry fees and banquet tickets.

Three familiar Mid-American faces will compete for Rookie of the Year. 29s Frank (The Kid) Slabenak, Palos Park, IL, 66 Chris Storey, Burlington, WI and 89 Ryan Farrell, East Troy, WI are the early contenders for the 20th anniversary Rookie crown. Eligible members have until the May 28th Memorial Day race at Golden Sands Speedway to throw their hat in the ring for Rookie honors. The series will kick off its 20th season at the 35th Annual Spring Classic at historic Rockford Speedway on Sunday, April 15. Teams may go to the Mid-Am website, click on "Competitors" and down load the Rockford entry form, now.
