MASCS MEMBERSHIP ROLLS ON AS OPENER NEARS

FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (March 10, 2011) – Over 25 drivers have taken advantage of purchasing an early Mid-American Stock Car Series membership. The series will kick off its 19th season at Rockford Speedway on Sunday, April 17.

Nine of the top ten in MASCS standings have signed up for membership in the 2011 season. Bobby Gutknecht, who pegged 2010 as his final season, entered his membership should a comeback be in order.

Three new drivers will prepare for Mid-American action. Dave Wastak of Milwaukee will make his debut in a car that was previously owned by MASCS Rookie of the Year Mark Kissinger. Jeff Dehanke of Gulliver, Mich., will pilot a machine once owned by Bret Widdis. Young Dylan Barbosa of Yorkville, Ill., will join the series in a Monte Carlo that was driven to a win at the Milwaukee Mile by Ross Zumbach.

Mid-American begins its 19th season on Saturday, April 17 as part of the 34th Annual Spring Classic at Rockford Speedway in Loves Park, Ill.
