FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (November 14, 2010) – The Mid-American Stock Car Series will give away an engine from B&B Race Engines for the second consecutive year at the 2010 Awards Banquet. The banquet takes place Saturday, Jan. 15 at Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells.

To be eligible for the prize drivers will have to meet certain requirements. Drivers will have to have competed in 75 percent of the 2010 MASCS schedule, purchase a membership for 2011 prior to the banquet and commit to running 75 percent of the 2011 schedule. Drivers also must be present to win.

If the driver who wins competes in 75 percent of the to 2011 schedule, he or she will have three options at the end of the season. The driver may return the engine at no cost, pay for a refresh and keep the engine or pay $1,000 to purchase the engine as is (no refresh) after the season concludes.

The engine that will be given away was awarded to Kyle Shear at last year’s banquet. Focusing on his weekly late model at Rockford Speedway, Shear was not able to participate in 75 percent of the 2010 schedule.

Mid-American co-owner Doug Strasburg brought the power plant back to Bruce Mueller of B&B Race Engines early this offseason. Mueller agreed to refresh the motor and let it be given away at the banquet again.

“Bruce put a lot of work into getting this engine giveaway together last offseason,” Strasburg said. “We owe him a debt of gratitude as well as the sponsors who donated the parts.”

Along with the labor put in by Mueller at B&B, parts of the motor were donated by Competition Products, GM Performance Parts/Gandrud Chevrolet, Howard’s Cams and Racing Components, REV (Racing Engine Valves), ISKY Racing Cams, Scorpion Racing Products, ProGear and Felpro Gaskets.

Mid-American hosts its 2010 awards banquet on Saturday, January 15 at the Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
